Inconvenient Truth for Gore as Arctic Ice Claims Don’t Add Up

There are many kinds of truth. Al Gore was hit by an inconvenient one yesterday.
The former vice president, who became an unlikely figurehead for the green movement after narrating the Oscar-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth,” became entangled in a new climate change row.
Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, stated the latest research showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in five years.
In his speech, Gore told the conference: “These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr. [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”
However, the climatologist whose work Gore was relying upon dropped the former vice president in the water with an icy blast.
“It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,” Dr. Maslowski said. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”
Gore’s office later admitted that the 75 percent figure was one used by Dr. Maslowski as a “ballpark figure” several years ago in a conversation with Gore.
The embarrassing error cast another shadow over the conference after the controversy over the hacked e-mails from the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit, which appeared to suggest that scientists had manipulated data to strengthen their argument that human activities were causing global warming.
Most of Al Gore’s CO2-AGW is a convenient lie. Enough PC handling of this travesty. No cap and trade. No COP15 treaty. No handing away more of America’s productivity and competitiveness on a silver tray to “developing countries” like China, India and others. Time for America to take back her production base and competitiveness from the brink.

One email used the work “trick”. The right wing pundits suggest that “trick” meant “trickery”, but in fact “trick” meant “an ingenious technique”, as in “that’s a great trick for solving that problem”. The other email referred to inconsistencies between tree ring evidence and ice core sample evidence. The problem is explained in other emails. Tree rings are inconsistent because they vary according to location, not because the refute climate change.
Al Gore is a farce, a charlatan and a greedy SOB. Anyone who’s fallen for the lies is a gullible more-on.
How can people be so blind to this junk science? Follow the money, folks. That’s what this is all about. I want clean air, clean water, etc, but the global warming is not a fact or proven. Gore is in it for the money. Nothing else.
The fact is that humans, especially Americans, are driving us off a cliff. Everything is being depleted. Fish. Forests. Clean water. Clean air. You name it and we are using it up — faster and faster. As the rest of the world catches up with our rate of overuse of resources, we will see a marked decrease in the quality of life and more money spent fighting economic wars in distant places. Rational conservation and new earth-friendly technologies are the only solution. This is something we can excel at and make money at.
Ohhh Al…Your research & speaches may be on ice. But, I’m sure your checking & savings accounts are heating up. There’s nothing to INCONVENIENT about that, aaaaa Al? Let’s face it Al. You’ve been weighed, measured & now your found wanting.
Hmmm what do you expect from a guy who thinks the center of the earth registers “millions of degrees” in temperature. Sigh. Baaaaaa go the followers.
LOL! Mr. Gore, please hand back the Oscar. Can someone please explain the loss of water on Mars? How about the last Ice Age? The ice shelf that covered half the United States? How did that melt? Climate Change is just that, Climate change. It will exist now and forever.
“realitygate” You know as little about science as my six year-old daughter. If you truly were someone who considered reality and truth and common sense you’d see that there is nothing wrong with this planet and its climate. Nothing…. Nothing at all….

all i know is I keep wondering….. how much did fox news bribe this guy for the “story”? you KNOW HE GOT PAID… IT JUST SMELLS LIKE IT….. and you really think Mr. Gore based all of his work on one little study? you’re desperation and your arrogance are once again… (sigh)… stunning….. look, um… go play with your tv network and let the grownups handle this one, kids…
Half of what Gore states is a deluded fantasy. The other half is a series of lies designed to cover up his galactically ignorant errors. Why anyone is still listening to him is completely beyond me.
The Gore-acle is just filling in for the dupes that don’t read and keep up with history, current events, science and nature. You know, the folk that can’t point to Iran on a map or remember who fought in the U.S. Civil War. He and his cronies will take even more money out of their pockets with his “ballpark” figures. Remember Orwell’s “distopia” and the quote “Ignorance is Strength.” It was meant to give the distorted history and truths published for the people meaning.
Al Gore doesn’t know what he’s talking about and makes it up as he talks. The debate is over. Gore doesn’t know anything!
The perpetration of such falsehoods as man-made global warming ought to be considered a crime against humanity. Either these people are mentally unstable or bent on oppressing the free populations of the world. What’s it gonna be? If more people were discerning regarding the stories being told to manipulate the public the fringe would be marginalize as it should. Will they go away if the North Pole doesn’t melt completely? Not likely. They will continue to push themselves on the world till they get their way or until they are seen for the children that they truly are. Let us not allow the children to call the shots. They will never be satisfied till all freedoms are gone.
