Suing Al Gore For “Global Warming” Fraud?

The founder of the Weather Channel, John Coleman, wants to sue Al Gore for fraud, along with companies that sell carbon credits. Coleman, who feels the network he created in 1982 is now losing sight of its initial focus, has been a long-time skeptic about global warming.
Now, he’s hoping that a lawsuit — with its accompanying legal discovery and scientific testimony — will serve as a vehicle for a full-fledged fact-finding debate to learn whether there’s any truth to the whole “global warming” thing. As far as he’s concerned, it’s a scam:
“As you look at the atmosphere over the last 25 years, there’s been perhaps a degree of warming, perhaps probably a whole lot less than that, and the last year has been so cold that that’s been erased,” he said.
“I think if we continue the cooling trend a couple of more years, the general public will at last begin to realize that they’ve been scammed on this global-warming thing.”
Meanwhile, the mainstream media is ignoring news of the lawsuit, possibly because Al Gore is just so darn fashionable these days.
After all, doesn’t he hang out with Bono and parody himself on SNL? Isn’t he on the Hollywood A-list for party invites?
Frankly, Al Gore pretty much convinced me that he’s out of touch reality when, at the Nobel Prize Concert, he used the same tired speech he’d previously given to the U.N. (video). You know, the one where he hammers on how “we in our generation will find the moral authority and capacity for long-term vision”.
Oh, sure, it went over just fine when he was talking to a crowded gathering of other old farts, but seemed rather smarmy at the Nobel Prize Concert where he was old enough to have fathered (or grandfathered) half of audience.
Best way to reduce carbon emissions: tape Al Gore’s mouth shut for a while.
I knew that was a bunch of sh*t from the start,why is it now “climate change”? ,now we can sit back watch those morons get mad at Al as he smiles all the way to the bank.Notice we havent hear anything from him ALL WINTER ,hmm maybe hes froze somewhere hahahahaha
The more I hear a politician (especially an out of work one) bleating about a cause to save the ______, I become even more certain that we know nothing about the problem to begin with.
To be so egotistical as to believe that humans can have that kind of impact that fast is the height of hubris. We don’t understand nature. And it is folly to believe that any remediation or carbon credits quick fix is really worthwhile. Makes for interesting speeches, though.
I’d like to see a suit brought against Gore but I’m not sure that any court in the US would entertain it.
But it would bring Gore’s “facts” into scrutiny and he wold have to answer questions. We can only hope.
I can understand Coleman’s frustration. All he wants is a true debate about this important topic, with both sides being presented fairly.
And it’s high time that it’s done. Too many from the Green group have said we should keep an open mind that man is causing this alleged global warming but I’ve noticed it’s always they who refuse to listen to the other side without name calling.
You go John. Fraud, let’s see, how about all those trying to sell carbon credits?

Fact - average global temperatures are rising (global warming)
Fact - this results in changes to the climate in both directions, warming and cooling (climate change)

You idiots, When the Northeast is hit with a blizzard u never hear about global warming but God forbid we have a warm day in March and all the chicken littles coming running. The earth goes in circles. The greens are fanatics with nothing better to do. Get a life. The earth will be here long after we are gone unless u believe it will end in 2012. What continues to amaze me is the fact that some people think they can control the universe and nature.
Man is not in control of nature … they never will be. It is too vast.
One of the problems for us non-scientists in trying to balance the conflicting claims is that there are ordinary weather cycles that last for hundreds of years. Most of us don’t live that long anyway, so we can’t really cite firsthand experience in deciding whether we are in another passing cycle or in a period of real change.
I’m reminded of an adage from an economics textbook. The difference between a recession and a depression is, among other things, the length and the severity of the downturn, and different policies should be used for each.
Well, guess what? A recession doesn’t carry a sign saying “I’m only temporary” … the truth is clear only in retrospect.
I do know one thing (that’s about it) … there were a lot of ’scare’ headlines in the late 1940s saying that the Earth was entering a new ice age.
Ok just my thoughts. The papers lead the sheep into whatever their agenda is. Sorry Americans are so dumbed down they can not think. On the subjest of recessions, if the papers never reported it Americans would not get scared but they trumpet it every night and the sheep believe it. If the media said today the economy is booming the people would be out spending and enjoying life. I hate election years same shit every four years.
The question is, Al Gore running a company selling credits. Is mister Gore going to exhale oxygen to compensate. What right does he have to charge people in the name of green.

We have had on of the coldest winters here in New Zealand for a long time. We are a lot closer to the south pole than Al gore and his band of patriots, Global warming is a scam. Our government just spent 2 billion buying useless carbon credits. This comes after during world wide ressession and after NOAA published results proving the entire earth is cooling. Nice one.
